Trauma-informed care for every
age and stage of life

Carly Grimes is a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience across a wide range of clinical settings, including residential programs, in-home care, therapeutic camp, schools, and outpatient treatment. This breadth has given her a rare ability to meet clients wherever they are — whether they are navigating their first experience with therapy or managing complex, long-standing mental health challenges.

Carly works with individuals, families, and groups across the full lifespan, from children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional difficulties to adults, seniors, and individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. She has particular expertise working with people diagnosed with ADHD, learning disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders, bringing patience, structure, and genuine attentiveness to every session.

Her practice is grounded in trauma-informed care and draws on DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and social skills training. She is especially passionate about supporting adolescents and adults through trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, emotion regulation, and the challenges that come with major life transitions. When it is needed, Carly is also skilled in crisis management and safety planning.

"I am passionate about working with adolescents and adults — meeting each person where they are and helping them move toward the life they want."

A flexible, trauma-informed toolkit

Carly draws on multiple evidence-based approaches and tailors her work to each client's needs, history, and goals.

Trauma-Informed Care

Every aspect of Carly's practice is shaped by an understanding of how trauma affects the mind, body, and behavior — creating safety before anything else.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Teaches concrete skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and navigating relationships — especially helpful for intense or difficult emotions.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Helps clients identify and shift unhelpful thinking patterns to ease distress and build more effective ways of responding to life's challenges.

Motivational Interviewing

A collaborative, client-centered approach that helps people explore ambivalence and strengthen their own motivation to change — particularly in substance use work.
