About Julia
A relational approach to healing
across generations and cultures
Julia Thompson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from LaSalle University, with a specialization in addictions treatment, and earned two bachelor's degrees in psychology and sociology prior to her graduate work.
Julia has provided therapy across a wide range of clinical settings, including residential and inpatient programs, behavioral health agencies, in-home services, outpatient care, and community mental health. This breadth of experience allows her to meet clients wherever they are, and to tailor her approach to what each person and family actually needs.
Healing happens in relationship. Creating a space that is emotionally safe, non-judgmental, and culturally attuned is the first step toward real change for individuals, couples, and families.
Julia's clinical work is grounded in systemic and family therapy theory, with a strong emphasis on cultural sensitivity and awareness of the broader social forces that shape family life. She specializes in supporting adolescents, families, and couples navigating trauma, grief and loss, family conflict, parenting challenges, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. She also brings focused clinical training in addictions, reflecting her graduate specialization and her experience across community and inpatient settings.
