Genuine connection as the foundation
of meaningful therapeutic change

Kathy Heller is a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and available via telehealth in Florida. She is a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and the American Counseling Association (ACA). Kathy's path to private practice reflects a rich and varied clinical history: she began her career as an educator before transitioning into work as a mobile therapist and behavioral specialist, then moved through community mental health and outpatient settings before arriving at private practice.

Her earlier work centered on children and families, and that foundation continues to inform how she thinks about the people she works with today. Across every setting she has worked in, Kathy has brought the same core commitment: creating a space that is safe, supportive, and free from judgment, where clients feel able to honestly explore what they are thinking and feeling.

Genuine connection and collaboration are key to creating meaningful change. The therapeutic relationship itself is part of the work.

Kathy holds specialized training in anxiety and grief and loss, two areas she has developed deep expertise in over the course of her career. She also works with clients navigating depression, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and adjustment disorders. Her approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, and she draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, feminist therapy, multicultural therapy, and social justice counseling frameworks to meet each client where they are, with care that is responsive to their identity, background, and lived experience.

Educator, clinician,
and lifelong learner

Outside of her clinical work, Kathy finds balance through family, friends, staying active, travel, good coffee, and time with her dog.
