Dr. Gottesman is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in treating individuals suffering from Anxiety, Depression, and Co-Occurring Disorders. Her areas of specialty include:

Education and Experience

 

Dr. Gottesman earned a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from La Salle University as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration specializing in management. She has extensive experience working in Community Mental Health settings and in private practice with a variety of mental health diagnoses and a spectrum of severities.

Previously, Dr. Gottesman served as an evaluating psychologist for a community-based BHRS Program (Wrap-around) for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, attention issues, or behavioral difficulties, along with their families. She also has experience supervising doctoral externs and service providers.

 

Therapeutic Approach

 

Dr. Gottesman's approach to therapy is primarily Cognitive-Behavioral. She is also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which emphasizes minimizing avoidance behaviors and engaging more fully in behaviors that align with one's life values.

 

Dr. Gottesman believes in a collaborative, non-judgmental relationship with her clients, marked by humor and honesty. Her philosophy is that she has as much to learn from her clients as she hopes they have to learn from her, fostering a supportive and open therapeutic relationship.
