About Zoya
Empathic, systems-oriented care
for individuals, couples, and families
Zoya Grinblat-Shvartsman is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's in Family Therapy from Drexel University. She works with adults, couples, and families navigating depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, and self-esteem challenges, and brings particular experience supporting caregivers, seniors, and individuals and families affected by severe mental illness. Zoya has worked with clients across a wide range of age groups, socioeconomic backgrounds, and cultural contexts, and provides therapy in both Russian and English.
Zoya's approach is systems-oriented, shaped by her foundation in family therapy and a deep belief that no person exists apart from the relationships and environments that surround them. She examines how family, community, cultural background, and socioeconomic factors affect mood, functioning, and sense of self, understanding that a meaningful shift in one part of a person's system creates change in the others. Across all of her work, she leads with empathy and compassion, building a safe, validating therapeutic relationship in which clients feel genuinely seen and respected in their uniqueness.
Each person arrives in therapy shaped by the systems they live within. Understanding those systems, and how even one shift can ripple through them, is often where the most meaningful change begins.
Her bilingual practice in Russian and English allows Zoya to work with Russian-speaking clients in the language they think and feel in most naturally, an important bridge for those for whom language is inseparable from trust and the ability to fully express themselves. She offers individual, family, couples, and group therapy, always with sensitivity to each client's cultural background and a deep respect for the ways people understand and move through change on their own terms.
