NINA PARKER, Psy.D.

Dr. Parker is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has spent over twenty years working with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of treatment settings including outpatient clinics, private practice, residential facilities, and a treatment foster care program. Her work also includes providing behavioral therapy to adults with varying degrees of cognitive and developmental disabilities.

 

Dr. Parker believes in an eclectic approach to treatment utilizing a variety of methods including strength based and client centered therapies to create a treatment program that caters to each patient's unique needs. Regardless of presenting issues or diagnosis, Dr. Parker believes that everyone has the capacity for growth and wellness and that a strong therapeutic relationship is critical in the success of any treatment. Dr. Parker aims to create a non- judgmental, collaborative space where the person can express themselves freely, address concerns, and gain insight into present patterns of thinking and behavior.

 

Her primary specialty areas include working with older adolescents, adults, and seniors with anxiety, depression, grief/bereavement, stress management, life transitions and adjustment, relationship problems, chronic illness, and career development. Her passion is supporting and educating the person and/or families about a person’s diagnosis so that treatment is meaningful, supportive, and clinically responsible.

 

Dr. Parker earned her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Immaculata University. She also currently works as the Executive Director for a large behavioral health program and also serves as an evaluating Psychologist for children to determine need for Intensive Behavioral Health Services.
